Job Description
The Senior Data Architect leads the design, development, and governance of enterprise-wide data architecture for banking and financial services platforms. This role drives strategic decisions on data modeling, integration patterns, and analytics infrastructure while ensuring regulatory compliance across all data assets.
Job Profile:
· Design and maintain scalable data models (conceptual, logical, physical) for core banking, payments, risk, and regulatory reporting systems
· Define enterprise data integration strategy across on-premise and cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP)
· Establish data governance frameworks, data lineage, and metadata management standards aligned with Basel III/IV, SOX, and GDPR requirements
· Lead data lake/warehouse architecture design using modern platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery)
· Partner with AI/ML teams to ensure data pipelines support advanced analytics, fraud detection, and credit risk models
· Drive real-time data streaming solutions (Kafka, Flink) for transaction processing and market data feeds
· Mentor data engineers and analysts, conducting architecture reviews and establishing best practices
· Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate financial domain requirements into robust data solutions
Technical Skills:

SQL, Python, Spark, and data pipeline orchestration (Airflow, dbt)

Cloud data services (Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, GCP BigQuery)

Data governance and cataloging tools (Collibra, Alation, Apache Atlas)

API design and microservices data patterns

Knowledge of financial data standards (FpML, FIX, ISO 20022)
Experience & Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field

10+ years in data architecture/engineering with 5+ years in banking, capital markets, or financial services

Deep expertise in relational and NoSQL databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra)

Proven track record of designing data architectures for regulatory reporting (CCAR, DFAST, MiFID II)
-
Experience with data modeling tools (Erwin, PowerDesigner) and ETL/ELT frameworksPreferred
Preferred Certifications:
CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional), AWS/Azure/GCP Data certifications, TOGAF
