Advanced Manufacturing Engineer

Shoreview, MN

Job Description

If you’re the kind of engineer who would rather be on the production floor solving real build problems than sitting behind a desk, this role is built for you. We’re looking for someone who can take complex, one-of-a-kind equipment builds and turn them into efficient, repeatable, and well-executed processes. Your primary challenge will be stabilizing and improving assigned work centers, reducing production disruptions, resolving build issues quickly, and creating clarity where ambiguity exists.

You’ll also play a key role in improving manufacturability and process flow, helping ensure custom equipment builds meet safety, quality, schedule, and cost expectations. You’ll be part of a cross-functional manufacturing team supporting large, custom capital equipment builds in a high-mix, low-volume environment. This role partners closely with design engineering, supply chain, quality, planning, supervisors, and technicians to ensure builds are executed effectively from concept through final integration.

Success Criteria:

This person will spend the majority of their time supporting production; troubleshooting issues, improving workflows, and developing clear, usable process documentation that enables consistent execution. The strongest performers are highly visible on the floor, take ownership of problems, and implement practical solutions that improve safety, quality, and output. A major challenge in this role is navigating ambiguity in a custom, project based environment where every build can be different. Success means bringing structure to that complexity—ensuring work centers are prepared, processes are repeatable, and cross-functional teams are aligned to execute efficiently with minimal rework or disruption.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience supporting capital equipment, custom machinery, automation systems, or complex electromechanical assembly
• Experience working in high-mix, low-volume, engineer-to-order, prototype, or custom equipment manufacturing environments
• Experience directly supporting production or assembly work centers in a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, BOMs, routings, work instructions, engineering change control, and manufacturing execution
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and assembly documentation
• Experience troubleshooting production issues and implementing process improvements in a shop or factory setting
• Experience using MRP/ERP systems to support production scheduling, inventory control, material planning, and manufacturing operations
• Demonstrated ability to develop repeatable manufacturing processes and improve production execution in environments with varying product configurations
• Experience using data and operational metrics to identify constraints, prioritize improvements, and measure manufacturing performance
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
• US Person

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated history of leading measurable manufacturing improvements, including examples of cycle time reduction, throughput improvement, labor efficiency gains, quality improvements, schedule performance improvements, or rework reduction
• Background in large mechanical assemblies, automation equipment, robotics, weldments, machined structures, or integrated electromechanical systems
• Experience with fixture design, lifting/handling methods, and production support tooling
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, FMEA, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement methodologies
• Exposure to regulated, high-reliability, or complex industrial manufacturing environments
• Experience supporting fabrication, integration, and test work centers for custom equipment programs
• Experience developing standard work, manufacturing documentation, and scalable production processes in custom or low-volume manufacturing environments

You’ve learned about what you'll be doing, here are the benefits you'll gain when you join our team:
• Global team recognized for their passion of inventing
• First-of-a-kind product culture and project exposure
• Training and development from industry-leading experts
• Cutting edge benefit programs that include: 401(k) & matching; Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance; Disability & Life Insurance; PTO, Paid Holidays, & Parental Leave for both Parents; Tuition Reimbursement
