Position Summary:

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's (CFF) Community Partnerships department supports people with cystic fibrosis and those directly affected by it. Within the Community Partnerships department, the Insights and Partnering team connects CF community members with opportunities to share their experiences, perspectives, priorities, and knowledge to influence and impact CF research, care, and programs. The Community Insights Manager manages assigned projects as part of the Community Voice program and other organizational priorities. The Community Insights Manager enables the CF Foundation and external stakeholders (researchers, clinicians) to meaningfully engage community members through committee recruitment, focus groups, survey projects, and other methods of community engagement and insight gathering. The Community Insights Manager conducts the analysis and presentation of community insights to inform priorities and programs.

This is a hybrid role based in Bethesda, MD, and requires 2-3 days per week in the Bethesda office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as a primary contact for Community Insights and Partnering team with assigned departments, internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborates and serves as primary contact for Insights and Parting team with assigned departments and external stakeholders to assess needs, identify opportunities and manage multiple community insight and partnering activities across multiple avenues.
  • Educates and consults on appropriate strategies, methodologies, and approaches to engage people with CF and other members of the community in stakeholders' work to leverage the value of Community Voice.
  • Solicits and integrates community insights and/or involvement in groups and initiatives across the Foundation and Foundation-funded projects through committee recruitment, focus groups, survey projects, and other engagement.
  • Conducts and supports qualitative research, including analysis and qualitative data gathering (interviews, focus groups).
  • Supports quantitative research and analysis in partnership with the Data and Analytics team, including: Identifies relevant existing data to inform new data collection in support of internal client projects; Proposing strategies to engage community members in support of real world and patient-centered research goals, conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of research data and present data to inform insights and decision making.
  • Supports team-wide initiatives, including program communications, growth strategies and activities, leads Foundation-wide information sharing efforts on insights-related topics.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Minimum of six years of related experience, with preferred background in health equity, diversity and inclusion, underserved community engagement, patient engagement, and/or community-based research,
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage complex projects, assess risks, exercise sound judgment, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to tailor technical and non-technical messages for diverse audiences and build effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience conducting applied primary market research and generating insights, including qualitative methods such as interviews and focus groups.
  • Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data, develop data-driven recommendations, and create effective data-oriented presentations.
  • Strong technology skills, including online proficiency with tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, ATLAS.ti, and Co-Pilot; Spanish language skills preferred.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Reports to Sr. Director, Community Partnerships & Engagement

Travel Requirements:

  • Minimal travel (e.g., 2x/yr) to conferences and meetings, as necessary.
