Position Purpose
The Sr Wealth Advisor serves as a trusted advisor to the individual family members, providing comprehensive, holistic financial planning tailored to multi generational wealth needs. This role integrates both individual investment planning done in connection with Pohlad Companies as well as the Family’s external investment advisors, and coordination with the broader Pohlad Family Office team on tax, trust and estate, and cash flow planning. The Sr Wealth Advisor acts as both a technical expert and relationship manager, translating complex personal financial matters into clear, actionable guidance for individual family members.

Key Accountabilities

Financial & Wealth Planning
• Develop and maintain comprehensive, customized financial plans for individual family members, incorporating cash flow needs, long term goals, family values, and legacy objectives.
• Analyze cash flow, balance sheets, net worth, and liquidity across personal holdings and family entities.
• Provide strategic guidance on wealth management, education funding, and philanthropic strategies.
• Support generational planning, including financial education for family members.
• Serve as a trusted advisor guiding individual family members through a thoughtful process, helping them consider financial options and decisions, and providing counsel to promote informed decision-making.
• Proactively communicate with individual family members through email, meetings, and phone calls to discuss individual family member requests, concerns, issues, and planning items.

Estate, Trust & Tax Coordination
• Collaborate with internal and external estate planning specialists and tax advisors to align financial plans with trusts, governance structures, and tax strategies.
• Coordinate planning related to wealth transfer strategies, and private foundations.
• Monitor execution of estate and tax plans as well as external trends and best practices and proactively recommend adjustments as family or regulatory circumstances evolve.

Investment Support
• Partner with the Pohlad Investment Management CIO, Pohlad Operating Companies CFO, and individual family member external investment advisors to ensure planning assumptions align with portfolio strategy.
• Evaluate investment impacts within broader financial plans (liquidity, tax exposure, concentration risk).

Family & Advisor Relationship Management
• Serve as a primary point of contact for individual family members on their financial planning related matters.
• Coordinate with internal and external advisors, including bankers, legal counsel, accountants, and investment managers.
• Prepare clear, thoughtful materials for individual family member meetings, reviews, and planning discussions.

Supervisory Responsibilities
• None

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
• Deep knowledge of estate planning, tax efficient strategies, and complex family structures
• Experience working with high-net-worth families
• Exceptional discretion, judgment and professionalism
• Ability to communicate complex financial concepts
• Ability to effectively build credibility and strong relationship with multi-generational family members
• Advanced analytical, modeling and presentation skills
• Skilled in coordinating and collaborating with others (internal and external)
• Demonstrated independence and objectivity; executive-level interpersonal skills, integrity, flexibility

Education and Experience (minimum qualifications)
• Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification or equivalent designation preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field (Advanced degree preferred)
• 7-10+ years of experience in financial planning, wealth management or family office environment

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work primarily in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands (with or without reasonable accommodations)

The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to hear objects, tools, or controls.
