HBCU Week – IRS Hiring Event for Accounting Students and Professionals

 

Sunday, September 15, 2024 – 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

 

The IRS is hosting an exclusive Hiring Event on Sunday, September 15, 2024, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, as part of the 6th Annual Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Week Career and Recruitment Fair in Philadelphia, PA. As part of the event, we will be hiring qualified applicants for the Revenue Agent position.

 

Revenue Agents

 

As a Revenue Agent, you will use your skills in accounting to plan and conduct examinations or make determinations on various federal tax matters. These examinations may be performed in the field or in a centralized office setting, working with taxpayers, their representatives, certified public accountants, and tax attorneys. Your duties will vary based on the area you are assigned and will cover a broad range of small business, tax exempt, or government entity tax issues.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certificate, or
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in accounting, or
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in another field other than accounting or a combination of education and experience that included at least 30 semester hours in accounting or 24 semester hours in accounting and 6 semester hours in a related subject.
