This role includes teaching undergraduate courses focused on strategic thinking, startup development, entrepreneurship and innovation, with an emphasis on applied learning and real-world problem solving.The Music Business/Management Department within the Professional Education Division at Berklee College of Music invites applications for a part-time faculty member with expertise in business strategy, entrepreneurship, and startup development. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of how organizations identify, evaluate, and execute growth opportunities, with particular strength in venture creation, startup development, and strategic innovation, and will be able to guide students in developing new ventures and strategic initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach a range of courses in business strategy, entrepreneurship, startup development, and innovation.
- Guide students in developing and evaluating new venture concepts, business models, and strategic plans.
- Facilitate project-based learning, case analysis, and applied assignments.
- Hold office hours and advise students on academic progress.
- Participate in department meetings and department-sponsored activities.
- Maintain engagement with relevant industries to ensure course content reflects current practice.
- Contribute to ongoing curriculum development and program initiatives.
- Support the work of the Department, Division, and College.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, entrepreneurship, economics, or a related field.
- Minimum one (1) year teaching experience at the college level.
- Professional experience in business strategy, startups, innovation, consulting, or venture development.
- Experience launching or scaling startups or working in entrepreneurial environments.
- Familiarity with the music, media, or creative industries.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and access.
- Student-centered approach to teaching and mentorship.
START DATE
Fall 2026. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
Hiring Range:
Part-time Faculty as of 9/1/26: $66.96-$138 per hour. Salaries for faculty positions vary by academic rank; Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor. Candidates are placed into a rank following the final completion of the interview process, based on qualifications, experience, and alignment with institutional needs.
