The Senior Service Depot Technician is a key member of the Service Engineering and Service Depot teams. The primary responsibility of the role is to troubleshoot and repair a variety of electro-mechanical components, sub-assemblies and instruments in a timely and cost-effective manner. In addition, the Senior Service Depot Technician helps in facilitating work that is done by outside vendors. The primary goal is to drive favorable savings initiatives for the business.Interactions with multiple disciplines, functions and other locations local and globally is necessary to achieve these objectives.

Location: This is an on-site position in Shelton, CT.

Sr. Service Depot Technician Job Duties:

  • Perform diagnostic, troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical components, sub-assemblies and instruments in a timely and cost effective manner.
  • Manage transactional documents (paper and/or electronic) as they relate to the repair work
  • Interface with other Depot Service locations as required
  • Interface with other functions (eg: operations, Procurement, DC's, inventory management, field delivery, etc) as required
  • Material handling and work transactions
  • Be an active leader for change in identifying and driving continuous improvement strategies to streamline the Depot Operation to include improved standardization in processes & procedures
  • Follow and adhere to all PKI policies and procedures as applicable
  • Report issues in a timely manner
  • Maintain a safe, clean and presentable work environment at all times
  • Other activities as required by manager

Basic Qualifications:
  • Either a minimum of an Assoc degree (or equivalent technical degree) preferred OR 5+ yrs equivalent on the job experience
  • 5+ years minimum repair experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics and technical documents
  • Strong computer literacy experience required
  • 1+ years of electrical tools knowledge and experience required (eg: multimeter)
  • Strong technical electrical/electronic aptitude required
  • Positive, self-starter who can work independently as well as within a team, work with minimal supervision and ability to react to ever changing needs and with a desire and aptitude to learn new things.
  • Good verbal, written, communication and interpersonal skills - able to clearly present ideas and results.
Preferred Skills:
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies, business systems and procedures as they relate to the job to remain current with industry standards and new products
  • SAP & Service Max knowledge and experience desired
  • Proficiency in MS Office preferred
  • Math competency, Problem solving skills, Independent judgment and decision making preferred
  • Basic technical mechanical aptitude desired
  • Basic mechanical tools knowledge and experience preferred

The annualcompensation range for this full-time position is $50,000.00 to $70,000.00. The final base pay offered to the successful candidate will be determined by factors including internal equity, work location, as well as individual qualifications, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
